Streams in the Desert by Mrs Charles Cowman is the daily devotional I’m using right now, and I really like it. Originally published in the 1920’s, Mrs. Cowman put together this collection of Scriptures, poems, and writings from various Christian writers of the time, compiled into readable daily devos. This book is especially helpful if you find yourself going through any kind of struggle or “desert.” It has really blessed me lately!
Songs – Good to Me & Die a Happy Man
I’m choosing two current favorite songs, one Christian and one country! Audrey Assad is hands-down one of my favorite artists, and I find her song “Good to Me” so uplifting. What a beautiful reminder that God is good, to me, all the time, no matter what.
And who doesn’t love Thomas Rhett’s recent hit song “Die a Happy Man”? I’m such a hopeless romantic, and this song just melts my heart.
Clothing – new Alaska t-shirt
My current favorite item of clothing is my new Alaska t-shirt. I found this in the “locals” section at the grocery store a couple weeks ago and just couldn’t pass it up!
For those who don’t know, there is a popular t-shirt around here that all the born-and-raised Alaskan kids wear. It’s a similar design as the one shown here, but says “Alaska Grown.” I thought this “Alaska Transplant” shirt was so perfect for me!
TV Show – Last Man Standing
Brett and I have been enjoying this show lately. It stars Tim Allen, and, as my husband describes it, is essentially “Tool Time but with three girls instead of three boys.” It’s a great show for us because Tim Allen and his coworkers provide the manliness and comedy my hubby wants in a TV show, while the wife and three teenage daughters provide all the girly drama I love! 🙂 It’s also a conservative, family-friendly show, which I appreciate.
Facebook Follow – waiting for baby bird
A friend recommended this blog to me, and I consequently began following ‘waiting for baby bird’ on Facebook, as well. The lady who owns this page has PCOS like me, and she does write about that, but she also writes a lot about trusting God and waiting on Him – whatever we may be waiting for! Her daily Facebook posts are often really encouraging to me.
Recent Discovery – sea glass
Brett and I went walking on one of the local beaches a few days ago, and I found several pieces of sea glass. I love finding these — each one is so unique and pretty. It’s like finding a little treasure! Here are my discoveries from last week:
