Hello my friends! I hope you each had a very happy Thanksgiving, celebrated with loved ones. I want to remind you that today – sandwiched between Black Friday and Cyber Monday – is Small Business Saturday. Yesterday was the ‘glory day’ for shopping malls across America, and on Monday, Amazon.com’s sales will skyrocket… but today, let’s show some love for our hometowns, our friends, our neighbors, and small businesses everywhere.

Today, I want to tell you about several friends of mine, who own and run small businesses! Nope, I’m not on any commission or anything to tell you about these. So why am I sharing this post?

  • These people are really my friends and acquaintances,
  • I think they are incredibly talented,
  • I want to support their livelihood and families,
  • There are some great Christmas gift ideas for you!

AND, don’t forget to scroll all the way to the end, because there is a GIVEAWAY to enter!!

Classy Glass Etching

classyglassThis is my cousin Nicole’s business! She does custom etching on any glass you choose, from baking dishes to drinking glasses to Christmas ornaments. There are many fonts and designs to choose from; the possibilities are endless! (Note: Nicole recently had a baby, so I’m not sure if she’s doing Christmas orders or not – but you should still check it out!)

Country Pine Designs

Kathleen is a talented knitter with a big heart for animals and an awesome collection of pets! The animals don’t really have anything to do with her business, but it’s still a fun fact about her! Be sure to check out her knitted cowls; I think they are so beautiful.

Denali Kate

Painting, doodling, or collaging, Katie is a great crafting buddy! Katie crafts in Southeast Alaska, and her Etsy shop reflects her love for her location. She has some super cute hats and mittens for sale!

Dixie Cajun’s Creations

The tagline for this shop is “A Bunch of Little Things Made With a Whole Lot of Love.” Miss Josephine crafts Christmas ornaments, home decor, car decals, and more. I really like this decorative old window!

Hibiscus Art

Christy’s art hobby has recently blossomed into a new small business. She creates beautiful pieces of art and calligraphy, and is now teaching calligraphy as well! Check out some of the pieces she has made.

Kayla Phillips Design

Kayla is such a talented artist. Her shop is full of original design, hand-drawn greeting cards and prints. I especially love this one!

{Keep scrolling, because the giveaway at the bottom is for items from Kayla’s shop!}

The Knit Picker Shop

When she and I worked an office job together this past summer, Courtney was dreaming and scheming for this new knitting shop! It was fun to watch this progress from an idea in her head to a reality. Fun fact: Each item in Courtney’s shop is named for either one of her friends or a place she loves!

More Than Sparrows

Erin has made some really beautiful pieces of home decor. Her shop contains things like wall signs and picture frames, crafted out of wood and painted with Scripture or other encouraging words. I personally would love to have this picture hanging in my living room!! (Note: Erin and her family are preparing for a move overseas, so I’m not sure how much longer she’ll be in business. Snatch up some of these beauties while you can!)

907 Island Inspired

Tanya’s shop is full of truly one-of-a-kind pieces. Living on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska, she and her children collect sea glass and other treasures from the beaches, and Tanya uses these items to create beautiful jewelry. If you love sea glass, Alaska, or the beach, you’ll definitely want to check out 907 Island Inspired.
